Learn to Row is the starting point for anyone new to rowing. These introductory programs are designed to teach the fundamentals of rowing in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment — no prior experience required.
Learn to Row programs are typically offered as one-week camps, providing an immersive introduction to rowing through both land-based instruction and on-water practice. Participants learn basic rowing technique, boat handling, safety on the water, and the teamwork that makes rowing such a unique and rewarding sport. Instruction includes both land-based learning and on-water practice in crew-style boats.

SRRA’s Youth Rowing program offers young athletes the opportunity to develop rowing skills, build confidence, and be part of a supportive team environment. Programs focus on technique, teamwork, fitness, and having fun on the water.
Youth rowing includes seasonal sessions that build on the foundational skills learned in Learn to Row, offering opportunities for continued development throughout the rowing season. Completion of a Learn to Row program is required prior to participating in Youth Rowing.

Masters Rowing at SRRA is designed for adults who have completed Learn to Row or who have previous rowing experience. These sessions provide ongoing opportunities to row recreationally, build fitness, and enjoy time on the water as part of a crew.
Masters rowing emphasizes community, consistency, and skill development in a welcoming, low-pressure environment. Competition is optional — many participants row simply for the love of the sport and the social connection it brings.
