No — absolutely not! Our Learn to Row programs are designed for beginners, and no previous rowing experience is required. All are welcome.
No separate membership purchase is required. Program registration includes SRRA membership for the duration of the season or session.
Learn to Row is for adults and youth who are brand new to rowing or returning after time away. This program teaches the basics of rowing technique, boat handling, and water safety.
Youth Rowing is for middle school and high school students. No prior rowing experience is required. The program focuses on learning rowing fundamentals, teamwork, fitness, and having fun on the water in a safe, supportive environment.
Masters Rowing is for adults who have completed Learn to Row or have previous rowing experience. Masters sessions focus on rowing regularly, improving technique, staying active, and enjoying the social side of rowing.
Yes — we’d love to have you join us! Visiting rowers are welcome with a suggested donation of $17.50 per session.
Please email us in advance at 📧 SRRA@spokanerowing.org to let us know your plans. Before rowing, you’ll be asked to complete an SRRA Guest Rowing Form and an SRRA Waiver.

What can I do in iCrew?
After registering, go to “Your Home” in iCrew. From there, you can:
View and sign up for available practice sessions
Toggle your attendance plans
Reserve boats for individual or group rowing sessions
Pay dues and program fees
Complete required training (e.g., USRowing safety video, SRRA Safety Policy)
Submit required documents (liability waiver, medical history, emergency contact info)
Receive emails and updates sent to all active SRRA participants
iCrew is our primary system for scheduling, communication, and participant management, so keeping your information up to date there is important.
Our youth programs are open to middle school and high school students. No prior rowing experience is required.
Basic swimming ability is strongly recommended. Safety instruction is provided, and all participants follow the required safety protocols.
SRRA provides rowing equipment, boats, and safety gear. Athletes should wear athletic clothing and bring a water bottle.
Because SRRA programs are small and volunteer-run, registration helps us plan coaching, equipment, and safety coverage. We ask participants to commit to attending scheduled sessions whenever possible.
Fees are generally non-refundable once a program begins. In cases of injury, illness, or other significant circumstances, we encourage participants or parents to contact us so we can discuss options on a case-by-case basis.
Programs may be delayed, shortened, or canceled due to weather or safety conditions. In these cases, refunds are not typically issued.
