Learn To Row

Learn to Row PosterRegistration for 2017 Learn to Row is NOW OPEN!

Maybe you’ve seen us rowing on the river past Boulder Beach or cruising under the Argonne Bridge. Or perhaps you’ve read “The Boys in the Boat“. And you thought, “… that looks really cool, I’d like to try it, but how?”.    Now is your chance!

Our Learn to Row course for 2017 will be 2-weeks long and is composed of four weekday classes and a Saturday morning session each week. Pick the one class that best fits your schedule (each class covers the same basic skills and includes both dry-land and on-water sessions).  We hope this compressed format will be a better fit for participants busy summer schedules.

These summer sessions are for men and women (age 18 and older) who are interested in trying a new sport and adding a fun dimension to their summer schedule.

Each two-week session will be made up of lessons on the ergometer and on-the-water sessions in actual rowing shells! You will learn the basics of the rowing stroke as well as how to use the indoor machine to train on your own.   Basic boathouse terminology and boat/oar handling skills will also be part of your experience and you will receive a free SRRA t-shirt.

    • Cost is $200 for the evening and only $175 for the morning two-week sessions.
    • All registrants must be 18 or older by the end of 2017.
    • For two or more registrants in the same family, the second family member is half price!

  • Added benefits:
    • Free SRRA t-shirt Please indicate your size when registering
      • note… Men’s sizes tend to run a bit large so choose the next size smaller (a M – Lg fits a 220 lb male that normally wears XL)
    • If you choose to continue rowing for the summer and fall (and we hope you do!), we waive the usual Annual Membership Dues (a $75 value).
    • To continue rowing after the Learn to Row class you will only need to pay the monthly fees ($100) or purchase a punch card ($60 for 5 sessions or $120 for 11 sessions).

  • Pick the class that works best with your schedule.  You will be able to register online using PayPal (a PayPal account is not needed).
