Learn To Row

Spokane River Rowing Association (SRRA) offers the opportunity each summer to learn the rowing stroke on the water as well as on the ergometer (indoor rowing machine).

These summer sessions are for men and women (age 18 and older) who are interested in trying a new sport and adding a fun dimension to their summer schedule.

Each three-week session will be made up of lessons on the ergometer and on-the-water sessions in actual rowing shells! You will learn the basics of the rowing stroke as well as how to use the indoor machine to train on your own.   Basic boathouse terminology and boat/oar handling skills will also be part of your experience.

The cost for the three-week class is $120 and covers 7 sessions, including a Saturday morning session with the SRRA Masters group.

If you are interested in learning to row, you can register at Spokane Parks & Recreation Registration.

Participants will also need to complete a liability release.   Once “new” rowers have completed their three-week “Learn-to-Row” session, they can continue working on their rowing skills with Novice practices. Download the LTR Flyer
